5 Tips for Giving Gift Baskets
Consumer trends indicate that gift baskets have been popular
for some time, but their popularity has greatly increased
in recent years. Consumers like the intrigue and old world
charm of giving a special gift, but more importantly they
like the convenience.
Five tips on giving gift baskets:
Tip #1
Tailor the basket to your recipient -
Gift baskets can be personal, professional and designed
to suit all occasions, tastes and budgets. Take advantage
of that. You know your clients, friends and family, so make
the gift basket for your client the hockey fan much different
than the basket you give your friend the wine connoisseur.
Tip #2
Get Creative - A gift basket is no longer
just filled with fruit. A vast array of decadent gourmet
food product, premium wine & spirits, luxurious pamper
items, adorable baby gifts and more are what you will find
tucked inside a beautifully enhanced gift container. You
are not limited to the traditional basket either. Gifts
can be created in many different containers such as themed
gift boxes, planters, wire baskets, galvanized buckets,
wooden crates, coolers, wagons, etc. You can even customize
a gift basket with your corporate colors or promotional
items.
Tip #3
Send you best wishes throughout the year
- The Holidays are the perfect time to give a gift basket,
but individuals and businesses are giving gifts for many
other reasons, such as: New Baby, Get Well, Birthdays, Congratulations,
Missing You, Staff Appreciation, Weddings, Apologies, Sympathy,
Commemorative Events, Sporting Events, and more.
Tip #4
Use the Internet - On the internet you
can find a multitude of gift basket businesses that will
feature an endless supply of gift ideas and photos for you
to choose from. You can then place your order by phone or
on-line. Most gift basket businesses are happy to accommodate
any size budget; however the average basket will usually
sell between $65.00 and $100.00.
Tip #5
Order early for the holidays - With the
holiday season it is always best to place your orders as
early as possible. Orders placed as early as October are
not uncommon. This allows for product availability, production
time and delivery schedules. For other occasions, one to
two days notice is always appreciated, however most gift
baskets businesses will do their best to provide same day
delivery if they can.
No matter what your budget, a beautiful, well designed
gift basket will always leave a great impression. Receiving
a gift basket not only offers the recipient an opportunity
to indulge the palate in tempting tastes, but also savor
the memorable gift you sent them!
