Yellow Pages Group Partners With Google

Yellow Pages Group (YPG) today announced a strategic agreement with Google that will make its business listings available on Google Local Canada, a new local search service that can be found at http://local.google.ca. As part of the agreement, YPG’s 2.4 million Canadian directory listings will be available on the new Google site, helping to provide users of the service with comprehensive local search results.

What does this mean to your business? Simply put, more value. A lot more value.

• Each of your listings within YellowPages.ca will have their own optimized, fully-indexed, searchable web page developed as part of the partnership with Google.
• Multiple listings in different headings will have multiple pages
• All of your YellowPages.ca advertising text will be indexed by Google and Google Local – so the more you tell, the more you sell
• Clients without a web presence will get one, for free, through their YellowPages.ca listing
• Much more consistent search results – far fewer mysterious ‘drops’ every time Google changes their algorithm, as each YellowPages.ca client page will be indexed every month
• If your business is not listed on YellowPages.ca, you will not be listed on Google Local Canada (free listings count)

YellowPages.ca has already created the over 2 million individual web pages, and Google has begun to crawl each of them and add the results to their database. Within a few short weeks, the crawling should be complete.
