TV's Two Hours a Day Infringed by Internet's Three Hours a Day

From MarketingVOX, Thursday Dec. 30th, 2004

The Stanford Institute for the Quantitative Study of Society found that internet users average about three hours a day working with the network, about 50 percent more time than the average television viewer watches TV, according to the New York Times. Where did those three hours come from? Partly from face time with friends, co-workers and family, and partly from cutting down activities like watching TV and sleeping. Internet users already watch about 20 minutes less TV than the average viewer. It turns out that about half of that amount of time is directly due to them being on the Internet rather than in front of the tube.

Blogger's Corner

Business Blogs are quickly taking hold as the latest way to talk to your customers and share your knowledge.

They are also shaping up to be more than a passing fad, with nearly two-thirds of marketers thinking they are here to stay in a recent poll.

Even if you don't believe the marketers, believe this: almost a quarter of internet users read blogs regularly now, up from 17% just 1 year ago.

What does it all mean to your business? Blogs can be a source of great information, and a great way to reach your customers.

To get you started, our own Darby Sieben has created what we think is Calgary's first online specific business blog.
