Search Engines
Our
focus here is on the core 3 engines, Google, Yahoo and MSN with
Google getting more weight because of its usage within the Canadian
market. We leverage the concept of relevant links into your
web site to boost ranking by using CalgaryPlus.ca and CanadaPlus.ca
network.
Starting September 21st, we are now also able to add additional
and very significant leverage off of Google Local Canada.
We target the most relevant of keywords used on the search
engines for our clients and focus on those keywords to achieve
positioning within Google and the other search engines. We do
this by building a base of relevant links and content linking
to your site. Many internet marketing firms will try and make
changes to just your site to affect your positioning. This can
work short term, but every time Google changes its ranking system
– almost monthly – you could find yourself at the
bottom looking up. This can be a very costly and time consuming
process of constantly changing your site to try and ‘trick’
google into giving you a higher ranking. In some cases it might
be worth it. In most cases you are wasting time and money.
What does KS2 do for our clients?
First, we ensure that each client is listed within Google and
Google Local Canada. Because the only way to be listed in Google
Local Canada is to be on YellowPages.ca that is of course where
we begin. Google gets the data for Google Local Canada from
Yellow Pages.ca, and that listing happens automatically.
In addition, YellowPages.ca creates a free one-page compendium
website where a visitor can find all the ad information that
a merchant currently has in their listing on YellowPages.ca.
These profile pages are specially optimized for search engine
crawling and allow the client to receive additional exposures
in Google and other search engines.
Second, we can build a business profile for our clients on
CalgaryPlus.ca. Some examples are listed below
This creates a relevant link from one of Google's highest rated
Calgary site. An important link to your business to help in
ranking.
We query the above URL in Google by profiling a number of our
clients every month on the home page of CalgaryPlus.ca, which
also translates to the home page on CanadaPlus.ca. Because Google
queries CalgaryPlus.ca daily, we can typically impact search
results within 2 weeks on Google.
A major contributor to this is that MSN.ca features a link
called City Guides on the left hand side of their navigation
bar on the home page under Going Places. Because this links
directly to CanadaPlus.ca home page and to our clients they
get very favourable ranking in Google.

directory among the top 20 most used web properties in Canada.
YellowPages.ca attracts about 4 million unique visitors each
month, and growing. We place our clients in priority listings

as their find a business and find a person partner, including
Telus Mobility. On Bell and Telus, our city site network, CanadaPlus.ca

Though not a large market now, as it continues to grow our
clients will get priority listing over their competition on
